Fast paced romance/thriller
This book was hard to put down. I really wanted to know what was happening with every chapter. Enjoyed the two voices format that let the reader know both main characters feelings and what they were thinking. I confess that I did not read the sneak peak of the second in this trilogy because I don't want to wonder what will happen until the book comes out!
Who is Saving Whom?
(Full disclosure: This is not my usual genre and I'm not a fan of "open door" romance novels. If we can agree to disagree on that one point, then keep reading.)
Katie Krebs' first novel is a runaway roller coaster of a ride! The characters were lovable and I wanted to see them make a go of this crazy, wacky world they found themselves in. The title is perfect because they both DO need saving and Katie constructs a plot that allows that to happen. I won't give away the details but there was enough suspense, drama, trauma, excitement, action, and villains to keep the pages turning. If you like your stories spicy but your characters sweet, then this is the book for you.
I'll be honest, when I first started this book I thought it was the usual you know, brooding MMC and weak FMC kind not that I'm judging but this book goes way beyond that!😉
I don't want to spoil the book for y'all that are yet to read it but it's a really great book.
The end of each chapter got me so hooked, I finished the whole book in one sitting.🙂↔️
Sammy! As Linda will always call him 😆 is so sweet, I mean the sweetest MMC that I have ever read about. Plus he rambles when he gets flustered and that's really cute too.
As for the FMC, Lizze I really loved how she healed her trauma from all those abusive relationships that she went through. Sam being with her along every step of the way. Okay, I'm already giving spoilers lol😂
Then Aster and Oilvia, arrghhh words can't describe my excitement towards them.
I'm sorry this review is long but I really loved this book tbh.
If you are looking for a book that will make you swoon and scream out loud in excitement🤭 or cry cos I got emotional in some parts or laugh out loud, then you should definitely get this book.
To be honest I didn’t think I would like this book, given the subject mater. However the characters developed as they opened up to their vulnerabilities and childhood trauma. You can see the author has researched the effects of trauma as well as how difficult it is to access assistance for the homeless.
Lizzie is young and naive still looking for the good in everyone even though her upbringing was not happy one. Sam is a good guy but due to events has a dark secret. Katie has brought these characters to life with drama, twist, turns, laughs and tears. I really enjoyed this book. I wished the last few chapters gave more detail but overall I loved it. I cant wait to see what the next book brings.
